Description: Bluegreen or teal or turquoise 1930s English vase with handle. This gorgeous vase is all of these colors, which are characteristic of the great early 20th century era of English pottery manufacturing. The Stoke-on-Trent companies, such as Crown Ducal, Bursley Ware, Spode, Moorcroft etc. were producing decorative and practical goods for British households, and names like Clarice Cliff and Charlotte Rhead have since become hugely collectable. This piece is a bit more mysterious in origin, other than that it is a handled vase - a typical shape of the era and region - and has Made in England stamped on its base. I don't know that its year of manufacture was 1930 - eBay auto-filled that detail, and I can't get rid of it. But 1930 is quite possible! The only other identification is a design number, 79/3, which likely indicates shape and color. The piece also features a characteristic mottling over the glaze. There is a barely visible hairline crack in the lip, which I discovered while photographing it (see pic). Other than that, the only other issue is some standard and expected glaze crackling, which comes with age. I have some myself. I'm spring cleaning! So there will be more paintings, ceramics, books, and other items added as I work from room to room. In the meantime, thank you for looking!
