Although CGC takes great care to protect the slabs during the grading process, the significant size and extreme clarity of the holder makes it virtually impossible to prevent small issues that may occur during handling and in transit. As a result, minor scratches, particles inside and outside the holder, smudges, newton rings smaller than a half-dollar coin (in other words, less than 1.2 inches), finger prints, and scuffs are possible and considered to be acceptable according to CGC. In the event the flaw that I see falls out of acceptable range such as a large scratch or crack for example, I will make sure to note that in the listing.
