Black Victorinox Explorer Swiss Army Knife 9-11-10

Description: The Victorinox Explorer Swiss Army Knife is a large knife with all the expected tools and a few unexpected ones too. It has an end-mounted Phillips screwdriver, which lets the corkscrew have its traditional place. The tool on the Explorer which causes the most comment is the magnifying glass. (Why a magnifier? Well, you might want to examine a bug, read a phone book, start a fire, or inspect the trademark on an antique silver vase.) The knife offered here is a B+, dignified black, almost nice enough for a collector. The date 9-11-10 is engraved below the cross. The Explorer is a large (3.5 in. / 91 mm) four-layer knife containing large and small knife blades, bottle opener with large screwdriver, can opener with small screwdriver, scissors, magnifying glass, Phillips screwdriver, corkscrew, awl with sewing eye, parcel hook, toothpick, tweezers, and key ring. I am primarily a collector, but searching for new and unusual models often brings me duplicates and perfectly useful knives that I cannot keep. I share these on eBay. I classify knives by condition according to the scale below. Grading Scale: A+ new in box, with paperwork. Box may be worn, but the knife has never been carried, sharpened, or used. Collector or museum quality. A new or like new, but no box or paperwork. Collector or museum quality. B+ Excellent condition, no obvious wear, clean, tight, complete. Good for a collector, but probably not a museum. B Excellent condition with some wear on the scales (handles). Clean, tight, complete, but the Swiss cross may be barely visible. A great carrier but not pretty enough for a collector’s display. B- Some wear but still an excellent carrier. Clean, tight, complete. C+ A good carrier. Clean and complete with excellent utility value. C A good used pocketknife but nothing more. Everything is there and it all works, but if you dropped it in the creek you might not jump in to retrieve it. D Sold as is. Might be useful for parts or dissection.
