Description: "Billy Mitchell: Crusader for Air Power" is a 180 page, 6.5"x9.5" hardcover written by Alfred F. Hurley and published in 1964 (this is the stated 1st printing) by Franklin Watts (New York) as part of the Watts Aerospace Library. General Mitchell was the foremost United States advocate for a strong air force from 1919 to 1925, at which time he was court-martialed for insubordination for criticizing the military's focus on battleships and resigned. There are eight pages of black-and-white photos. The book is in good condition. The dust jacket is now protected by a clear plastic sleeve, but is chipped at the spine ends, along back top, and at the corners. It has small losses elsewhere, a few spots. The plastic is taped to the front and back pastedowns, making it difficult to see the light brown cloth boards - what's visible shows minimal wear. There are small, mostly-erased pencil marks on the ffep. The binding is firm.
