Description: George III Inlaid Mahogany and Satinwood Tester Bed, forfeited by Bernard Madoff then auctioned off at federal marshal auction. This is the bed that was in the main bedroom of the Madoffs’ penthouse on east 64th street in Manhattan’s upper east side. The bed along with other furniture and personal effects were forfeited as part of Mr. Madoff’s punishment for financial crimes to which he confessed. There are some condition issues including fading of the wood from exposure to sun rays, and the original headboard is missing. The fabric headboard is stained and there are condition issues with the fabric but it’s a beautiful bed with beautiful fabric, and purchase of the bed includes more fabric from the curtains matching the bed that can be used for fabric repair. Mattress not included. The bed size is irregularly sized and between a full and queen size. Sold as is. Local pick up from New York required. Or will work with professional movers sent to New York for local pick up.
