A little history about Beringer Blass Wine: " Beringer Blass' Australian winemaking heritage dates back to the 19th century when the original Mildara winery was established at the Jamison's Run sheep station in Victoria within the Chaffy Brothers' pioneering Murray River irrigation settlement. Again a pioneer in developing vineyard land in now-famous Coonawarra region, the Mildara name become part of Australian winemaking legend with the great 1963 Coonawarra Cabernet dubbed "Peppermint Pattie". Not long after, another legend was born. Wolf Blass Wines was founded in 1966 by German-born Barossa Valley winemaker Wolf Blass, who was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AMD) in the 2001 Queen's Birthday Honors List for his services to the wine industry. Credited with revolutionizing red winemaking in Australia, Wolf Blass was also honored by industry peers with the prestigious Maurice O'Shea award of 2000. The two legends combined in 1991 to create Mildara Blass, which grew by the year 200 to become Australia's most successful wine company. Now, this Australian legend has teamed up with California' Berringer Wine Estates, enabling Beringer Blass to offer the world's leading porfolio of luxury and premium wines."
