Each issue is illustrated with two engraved frontispieces with exception of parts 1 and 34 that have an engraved frontispiece and an engraved title page. Rear covers have printed advertisements. Parts 23-34 are missing the lower sections of the front covers. The missing sections were printed "Premium Tickets", numbered 1-12 consecutively, for subscribers. All the printed tickets are cut out of the front wraps. Pages 461-464, part 7, are torn with some loss of content. Some edge wear, chips and tears to many of the covers. Illustrations and text are clean and in good condition. Part 34 has an analytical index, title pages for for the three volumes, and an index to the illustrations.
