I am a retired high school Spanish teacher, and it is now the time to start passing on some of my decades-long collection of Spanish language resources. These are lightly used or brand new samples that I continued to refer back to for more activities, for my own classroom, and for the tutoring I did, as well. They are not from the same series, but they follow the same basic format and vocabulary building. I've copied the Tables of Contents of all the books, so that you can see the vocabulary, and how the grammar is presented, plus a few pages for you to see the layout of each. Each level has readings, as they reinforce and re-combine the materials covered previously. Each has a Spanish-English vocabulary in the back, and a Grammar Index to show where each grammar concept is presented for easy reference. All levels are in good shape, with tight bindings. These are the texts: ¿Cómo Se Dice? (How do you say it?) Second Edition, Copyright 1982, D. C. Heath & Co., ISBN # 0-669-04495-4. Level One. This book is very nicely laid out, with good grammar presentations, thorough practices, interesting pictures, and fun cartoon drawings to make the pages "friendly." Things that I like about this book is that the sections have "Self-Test" questions to check their understanding. (Answers are given in another Appendix.) Appendix A covers sounds and pronunciation, Appendix B is a thorough layout of verb forms, Appendix C is answers to Self-Tests. There is also a comprehensive Spanish to English dictionary, as well as English to Spanish. An awesome reference book, as well! This is a like-new teacher sample. Paso a Paso, Teacher's Edition, Level 2ScottForesman, Copyright 1996, ISBN 0-673-21673-X. I used this book for several years, and the binding wore thin on the back cover. I taped it, and continued to use it. The contents are intact, though splitting a bit at the back. Still, a very useful homeschool text and reference book. The content material is nicely laid out, and you will see answers to many of the grammar exercises on the outside edges, very helpful for homeschoolers! The text has a nice verb and grammar section at the back. A nice reference! Exprésate, Teacher's Edition, Level 2Holt, Reinhart, and Winston, Copyright 2006, ISBN 0-03-074022-3. This book is brand new, an extra copy for the series that we were using. Another great textbook series, with more real photos than illustrations. The series has nice readings and cultural insights. And, again, the teaching hints and answers to many of the activities are a great help! This series has an excellent grammar section, and a nice topical vocabulary reference! A super series!! Or even for extra readings or practice for current students to help with expanding your Spanish studies.
