This piece of Animation Art was released in 1989 and quickly sold out. Limited Edition size of only 5000 cels worldwide. Comes with the official Disney issued Certificate of Authenticity. Disney Seal appears on the cel in the lower right corner. The piece was issued by Disney without a background. For presentation, we have added a custom created color background of a forest. What is a sericel? A Sericel is a serigraphy process that involves silk-screening each individual color to the cel, one at a time. Every distinct shade is a separate screen, and a separate pass in the procedure. As a result of this fine art operation, each color is flawlessly reproduced. Sericels are also created in limited quantities, typically 2500 to 5000 pieces and sometimes even 9500. Because of their larger edition size, sericels are the most affordable type of animation art, ideal for the beginning collector. The word Sericel is a contraction of Seri-graphed Cel. BIO: Child Star Donnie Dunagan He retains memories of special events, personalities and even street numbers from 1939-42—a talent which Donnie himself admits is "a bit scary"! His favorites among his own movies are Bambi, the animated Disney classic for which he provided the voice of the title character, and the horror film Son of Frankenstein, in which his character befriends the Frankenstein Monster (Boris Karloff). His final film, and the one he loves most deer-ly, was Bambi. Because of Donnie’s large and bright brown eyes, he was selected by Mr. Disney to be the facial model for the Disney artists who would be handling the baby deer’s expressions. This evolved into doing the voice work for the young Bambi. When Donnie finished up on this movie in 1940, he left the lot and, as it turned out, the business of being a child actor; Bambi was his final credit. A lifetime later, however, he returned to work for the Disney Studios as an on-camera interviewee, adding his unique perspective to the bonus materials for the new deluxe DVD edition of Bambi.
