Description: Here is a sublime, museum quality sauce boat by Baltimore Silversmiths Mfg. Co. (founded 1903 by Frank M. Schofield, which changed it's name and mark about 1905 to Heer-Schofield Co. and in 1928 to Frank M. Schofield Co.). I give you all of that just to show that this has the early Baltimore Silversmiths mark, so was made c. 1903-1905. It is a beautiful, classical design with incredible hand-tooled decoration throughout and has been one of the favorite pieces in my collection for many, many years. I've never seen such a fine example. Marks: "B" (Lion's head) "S" plus "STERLING 925/1000 FINE" Measurements: 8 1/2" in length (handle to spout) and 6 1/2" tall. 410 grams A personal note: After more than 35 years of collecting and doing antique shows I've decided it's time to sell off most of my collections in preparation for retirement. I have fairly broad collections but specialized mostly in American silver from the 1870's and 1880's -- especially the Japanese Aesthetic Period and San Francisco silversmiths. I'm still working so I have limited time to do eBay listings and it's going to take quite a while, I expect.
