Description: Washingtonia Token struck with a Civil War Die Baker 280A (brass, struck with patriotic die 349A) R-6 Choice UNC ex Ken Bauer, integral loop removed as commonly encountered This token was originally a medalet with an integral loop. As is the case with this token, many of these medalets were converted to tokens by removing the integral loop. This token is of interest to Civil War token collectors. Though struck sometime after the Civil War, the reverse die was also used to strike Civil War tokens. It is identified as die 349A in the Patriotic Civil War Tokens book. The manufacturer of the medalet is not recorded in Rulau and Fuld Washingtonia book, but the reverse die is attributed to Philadelphia token maker F.C. Key & Sons in the patriotic tokens book. This is an attractive uncirculated specimen that was previously in the collection of long-time Civil War token collector Ken Bauer.Shipping is free. Should this token fail to meet your expectations, it can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. Sales tax, if applicable, is collected by Ebay and submitted directly to state authorities.
