Description: On offer, we have an original etching by American artist Arthur William Heintzelman. This is a 1949 portrait of "Janine", a smiling young girl. It is signed in pencil Arthur Wm. Heintzelman". On off white artist's paper, this measures approximately 15 1/4" X 13" with the etching 9 1/2" X 8 1/2". About the artist: Arthur William Heintzelman (1891-1965) was a painter, etcher, copyist, teacher and curator. He is regarded as one of the greatest etchers of the 20th century. This print is in excellent condition. It is bold, clear and clean with a nice imprint. This has been handled and has a few light wrinkles, especially on the lower margin and a crease on the bottom left corner. It has tape on the back from where it was once in a matte.
