ART DECO/MACHINE AGE/MCM PAIR + 1 - SILVRAY Light Fixtures Excellent Condition

Description: Up for auction is this beautiful pair of light fixtures made by SILVRAY Lighting in NY, patented in 1933. The fixtures I'm selling are in the first thirteen photos, the last four are examples being used for comparison of quality and condition compared to the listing. All fixtures have the original paint which is an almond beige and gray colors. Also included in the sale is a smaller version that screws directly into a ceiling light socket. The company that makes the smaller version is Vision-Aids (Trade Mark of Silvray), Inc in NJ. To get the same design effect as in the sample photos, I would recommend using socket extenders as well as half-chromed incandescent bulbs as shown in the photo, they are also offered in LED. Bulbs and socket extenders can be found on Amazon, or you can try to find long-necked industrial bulbs at www.bulbamerica.com, or www.1000bulbs.com Please Note: The smaller version looks like someone made a minor repair with tape, but it cannot be seen when installed. Measurements: Large fixtures are 16" diameter, extend 18" from the ceiling. Small fixture 10" diameter, extends 5" from ceiling. BTW - I've been collecting Art Deco and Machine Age lighting for over twenty-five years and rarely find this particular style of fixture in such great condition. The lights are missing four screws on their canopies. On the larger fixtures two screw nuts are missing. On a fixture I sold earlier this year on 1stDibs I solved the problem with replacing the original screw caps hardware with chrome ball nuts you can find in hardware stores or Amazon. Please Note: The two larger fixtures have their original ceramic sockets and wiring. I would recommend they be rewired for safety. Minimal cost.
