Description: For sale is a vinyl record by Area Code (212) titled "Extensions From Area Code (212)", originally released in 1979 by Friends & Co., a division of Bullseye Records as a promotional copy with white labels that have written on them "Promotional Copy Not For Sale". According to the liner notes, this record was mastered at Frankford/Wayne Mastering, located in New York City, New York. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched "SMK", followed by the matrix numbers A-2/B-2, indicating that early stampers were used to make this record at Sound Makers' pressing plant, located in Brooklawn, New Jersey. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering with superior sound quality, sought after by collectors and music lovers. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it away into an archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as Near Mint Minus because of very minor corner blunts. The spine has color loss at the corners from these blunts. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, with shiny and bright surfaces without any smudges, surface scratches or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading as Excellent because of occasional ultra low level surface noise, predominately masked by the music, but without pops or skips from start to finish. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. This is still one of the best copies of this album that I have ever seen or heard. You would be hard pressed to find one that sounds like this one, especially a white label promotional pressing.
