Ideally for use with Arcade1up joysticks or Sanwa joysticks. It's the perfect solution for quickly changing your joystick from 8-way to 4-way for games like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Dig Dug, etc. which are a horrible experience with an unrestricted 8-way joystick. Since it's top mounted, there's no need to open up the control panel and adjust the restrictor gate on the bottom of the joystick every time you want to swap, instead, it just fits right into the joystick hole from the top.
