Description: Late model and rare AO American Optical Original Pilot 57[]20 Bright Chrome frame with new old stock(NOS) gray glass non-polarized gray glass lenses! The lenses are sourced from military surplus, non-polarized, no logo. Original Pilot frame rates a 9.5/10, in really nice condition. See pictures for details. AO Original Pilot Aviator 57[]20 bright chrome frame with bayonet style temple arms. The original temple tips have been removed and thoroughly cleaned. They are pictured in the last picture. The nose pads are AO original, and are very clean. Full frame tuneup includes automotive quality detailing, disassembly, deep cleaning , tightening all hardware, new Fuse lenses, and new nose pads. Even changed the screws that hold the frame. 57 mm lenses are the larger size in the American Optical catalogue, suitable for an average or larger sized person. 140 mm (5.5”) temple arm length. The frames are 5.75”wide. Use that as a sizing guide, with a pair of glasses that fit you well, to make sure these will fit your face. Please do this before you bid. Notice the clarity of the lettering on the frame and the iconic AO embossed on the inside of the temple arms. The lettering on the frame dates these glasses to about 15-30 years old. Frames are straight and true, in exceptionally good condition for their age, but not new. Do not purchase if you want new. These are vintage(vintage means old) sunglasses, see pictures for condition and ask questions. New hard travel case included. Very nice pair of sunglasses. A rare find in this condition. Really nice!
