Description: This plaque/name plate came from an elevator in San Francisco and by the Machine Number, 27404, it was an early installation. Not sure how it came to an end and I got the plate off the old controller but rescued it before it was taken to the dumps. The HB controllers were what we called pendulum machines because the main up and down relay pivoted left or right to make the elevator go up or down as a pendulum pivots or swings. They ran on 220 volts DC (direct current) and usually had a flat top motor in the form of a rectangle connected to a gear box and most of them were in the basement of the building.
