Antique Wool Skein Yarn Winder Weasel Clock Measure Reel Spinner Spinning WheelThe clock dial on the side measures the length of the yarn as it's wound onto this weasel. It is gear driven by turning the X arms by the handle shown. This particular weasel doesn't have the pop sound at certain lengths like other winders, but instead has this clock dial that measures as you go.This item was hand made a very long time ago, I'm guessing the earlier 1800's or perhaps before that. The wooden parts are hand hewn and sawed and chiseled, and with the probably exception of repairs effected over the years, the nails used appear to be hand forged. Please see the pictures for more details.Overall size: 35.5" high x 18.5" wide x 20" deep with the arms in the X position. Arm winder diameter: 26".This weasel is in good working condition with wear as shown from age and previous use. One leg is always ready to come out of it's socket, but it works fine when in place and the winder is on its feet.Unfortunately the parts are well attached in general and so I must ship this piece assembled, which is what is driving the shipping cost (shipping companies also charge for the size of a shipment, not just for the weight).
