These African wooden Dogon chairs come in two or two pieces that can be easily disassembled for travel. The high back and seat with legs are carved from two separate pieces of wood. To assemble the chair, the bottom piece of wood, that is, the seat with two long extended legs, easily slides through the backrests through the two carved holes at the bottom and, once inserted all the way through the legs, the seat connects to the back to form a sturdy chair. On the back of one chair is carved the traditional symbol of a woman with a child, on the other there is a man with a caught fish. These two-piece chairs, made by the Dogon, were designed to protect the seated person from any animals or threats. This assembled dogon chair is 100cm high and 39cm wide. Gorgeous antique style used by tribes in a rustic style with some wear and tear.
