Antique Vtg 5¾" Tall Hand Bell 3" Dia. Bronze Brass Wood Handle School Teacher

Description: Due to the increase in volume of packages being shipped through the US Postal System, shipping times have occasionally been longer than those estimated by either eBay or the USPS tracking tool. Antique or vintage 5¾" tall hand bell with a wooden handle in theshape most often associated with a school teacher or town crier. The body of the just over 3" diameter bell itself is bronze or brass.The clapper and the rod through the handle are some sort of ironor steel (they attract a magnet).There is some darkening of the wood of the handle. Also, there is an old chip in the wide turned "lip" at the base of the handle.This old chip is shown in the second to the last photo. The twelve photos after the ones showing measurements withthe ruler, are pic.s of the bell shown at quarter-turn intervals withclose-up shots of the handle and body tohelp show the condition visually. Click on the video to hear the bell as it rings. No markings to indicate who made this bell, but there is an impressed number "3" inthe wood up near the top, as can be seen (with difficulty)in the fourth and the fifth to the last photos.(I also have similar shaped, smaller bells numbered with a "5" and a "7")The last photo shows the three similar bells grouped together - this bell (#3) is the one to the far left of the group (smallest). MEASUREMENTS about 5¾" (14.6cm) tall just over 3" (7.7cm) wide weighs about 6.4 ounces The metal has darkened and oxidized over the years. There isverdigris, which can been seen in the second and third to the last photos.There is also some verdigris on the underside of the bell.
