Description: Antique Vintage Japanese Ishikawa Ryusen Woodblock Print Map Nihon Sagamiya ?? Antique Japanese Ishikawa Ryusen Woodblock Print Map Nihon Sagamiya Available is this Japanese map. The map is possibly a version of "Nihon Kaisan Chorikuzu Zu" by Ishikawa Ryusen. An online viewing lists the publisher as Sagamiya Tahe. I don't read Japanese so this is based on viewing the map online…. The place designations in this version are in purple circles as opposed to the original. Other details are different as well such as the coloring which I believe is printed and not hand tinted. It is an older piece, but possibly a later reprint from one of the original versions? Please review photos and make your own determination on age. The visible area of the print is 15.75 inches tall by 33 inches long. The frame measures 23.5 inches tall by 40.5 inches long. There are some barely visible fold marks on the print which have been smoothed out fairly well. The piece is framed with plexiglass and an oak frame. Overall the condition of the print is good, with no sun fade, visible tears or damage. Purchased from an estate of a military couple who were stationed in Japan for many years. Date of piece unknown.
