Description: Antique STANLEY WOODEN Brass LEVEL #3 Patent 1891-1896 USA 30-1/2" Long. Manufactured by Stanley Rule & Level Co., New Britain, Conn., USA. It is marked '3' and has patent dates: 6/2/1891, 2/4/1896 and 6/23/1896. There are brass ends and has two leveling bubbles which are both intact. Appears to be made of cherry wood. The level measures 30-1/2" long x 3" x 1-1/4" and weighs 2 pounds 15 ounces unpackaged. The level has been cleaned and lightly polished. There are nicks, scuffs, scratch marks, gouges and finish loss. Some of the screws holding the brass plates do not look original, especially the one on the top above the Stanley name. Being sold "AS IS."
