Description: ANTIQUE SORENSEN AIR COMPRESSOR VACUUM PUMP ELECTRIC MOTOR DENTAL MEDICAL Circa 1910-1920 , electric motorized compressor that is 12"H , with an 8"L x 5 3/4"W original black finish , hardwood base. Made by C.M.Sorensen Co.Inc. Manufacturers New York N.Y. 110 Volts AC & DC Cycles. No serial number as the data plate is missing. Is stamped on one piston cylinder end, and the pressure gauge. Unit features an unusual open frame horizontal opposed cylinder , dual piston pump with central crankshaft , similar to early steam engines. In fine working restored condition, the original belt has been replaced with a newer rubber band type belt, and needs rubber hoses. Pump , glass filters + motor have no chips or cracks + retain nearly all of the original nickle plating , with just some dings , scratches + tarnish. Bottom exposed plate has had sheeting replaced. Has both finely turned nurled brass grease cups and they come on and off properly, and retain leather wicks. Electric motor runs well on AC 110 with attached cord + generates air flow that was needed for the various medical , dental tasks + other related industries. Off / On switch works properly. One of the Finer condition Sorensen Compressors that you will run into. Will be shipped double boxed for careful protection.
