Antique "Smith" Family Bible 1882 "2000 Illustrations" Ward Brothers Illinois

Description: Item: "Ward Brother" Family Bible with "Johnathan" and "Anna Mary" Smith on the front and back cover. Newest date I could find printed was 1882. It claims "2,000 illustrative engravings on steel, wood, and in colors" including "chromo-lithographs". Mostly greyscale illustrations. Perfect for anyone with the Smith family name. Interesting note: Newspaper included from 1929 with Hannah Mary Smith's obituary. I guess they got her name wrong when ordering the covers engraved. Unfortunately, as the newspaper alerts us, she managed to catch fire and perish. It includes more family details in the corresponding article. For some reason, antiquated obituaries like to give all the gory details. It said she came from England but moved to Illinois. Is this your ancestor!? Condition: Used with wear associated with age, use, and poor storage. Needs professional attention as the spine and cover have peeled off the binding. Numerous pages loose, arranged improperly, and/or with ratty/ragged edges. Worn with yellowing and brittality. Possible pages missing and/or with tears. Gilding faded irregularly. Wear to leather finish. No family photographs section. Family information sections filled out. Please be sure you can undertake the repair as there are no refunds or returns.
