Antique Sessions "Baldwin" 8 Day Black Adamantine 6 Column Mantle Clock c.1910

Description: For your consideration is a handsome 8 day black adamantine 6 column mantle clock by Sessions Clock Co. Dating to around 1910, this elegant old timepiece has been well cared for, is in good condition for its age, and is running beautifully. Standing approximately 10.5” in height, the clock measures 19” wide, is 6” in depth front to back, and comes complete with the key and the original pendulum. The classic gloss black adamantine case appears to have been recently polished to a deep luster and the brightwork has been gilded or refreshed at some point in the distant past. A few dings, nicks, scratches, and corner bumps are visible to the case though an effort has been made to conceal them. This has been well done and they are not immediately noticed or distracting. Expected age related wear is seen to the brightwork. The crystal is in good condition, void of chips or cracks, and covers a traditional white porcelain face that shows mild staining and discoloration. The clock is currently in strong running condition (as with all of these old clocks, it must be placed on a completely level surface to run properly) and keeps reasonably good time, gongs each hour on an antique cathedral style gong and announces each half hour with a single toll. Please note that we do not warranty or guarantee the clocks mechanical function once it is shipped as it will likely require servicing and adjustment to continue proper operation upon its arrival.
