Description: Antique Right Adult Wooden Mold For Custom Shoes - Hinge in Middle - Size 8. Description This is piece of history. It is a wooden shoe mold from the1900’s. It is made of beech wood and was used by a cobbler to make custom handmade shoes. Leather was stretched over this mold and then attached to the bottom with nails. These molds were made in different sizes. The center hinge was used to remove the mold from the shoe once complete. It has some water marks. Size 8 Condition It has a beautiful warm wood color and shows signs of normal wear and tear given its age and use. There are some scratches and wood discoloration in various areas. It is usual to see nail or small pin holes on the bottom surface. Please see photos in large format to see details. Benefits This mold makes a great display at you home, office or store. It is a great conservation piece. It reminds me of the days when cobblers made shoes by hand with personal care and attention. What a great display item for a vintage display shelf. Use as farmhouse decor, or a primitive display. However, you use it, please enjoy. Did you know that prior to the civil war shoes were not made for the right or left side but were made from one last that were worn on either side. Please feel free to message me with if you have any questions. Thank you for your interest. Stk # 1011
