Antique Redwing Cherry Band Blue and White Stoneware Pitcher

Description: This is 8½" high x 5½ dia at the base x 4½" dia at top (excluding handle & spout). Has a clear glaze on the outside and on to inside so it could be used. This was made by Red Wing Company and the pattern name is " Banded Cherry's ". I'm guessing this is probably from the late 1800's to early 1900's. Has no maker's mark on it anywhere. The pitcher alone weighs 4 pounds by itself. This is in Excellent plus shape no chips or stains or age crazing under the glaze. It does have some imperfections from the salt glaze when it was being made. In the last two pics it shows where the glaze would bubble up in spots an the small bubble would burst with some other imperfect spots. The picture of the spots is enlarge many, many times to show you they are there. The last pic will also show a bruise spot that is only 1/4" long x 1/16" wide which is on the inside of rim back toward the handle. A great early farm house item. Has been around for up to 100+ years. Probably was left on the kitchen shelf an never been used because of the weight with butter-milk in it to use. A great early item to own.
