He was not a hundred percent sure but thought it was a very promising piece and was eventually referred to the Principal of Fever River Research and he stated "Although the form of the pot, and rim style is reminiscent of wares produced in the Galena region, I have not seen any vessels from that area decorated in the manner depicted on this vessel. I’m sorry I cannot be of any further assistance." Believe design added at later date as it scratches off. So real Galena or not you will not be disappointed in the appearance of this vessel if you love American, Primitive, or Folk Ware I am sure you will love this piece.
