Antique Red & White Hand Stitched Quilt Ocean Waves 87" x 76" Early 1900's

Description: This antique quilt is a beautiful addition to any collection. The hand-stitched Ocean Wave design is intricate and detailed, featuring a 12" Red & White block pattern on a cotton fill material. Pattern is commonly known as "Ocean Waves". The fabric pattern and colors are true to the era and you can see the care that was taken in carefully selecting the fabric color and print. Measuring 87 inches by 76 inches, this quilt is perfect for all seasons and can be easily cared for with hand wash instructions easily found on the internet for hand made quilts. Photo of quilt shown was taken on a Queen size bed with a thick mattress for size comparison. The quilt blocks were completely hand-pieced, then formed to make the quilt top between 1916 - 1924 in Colorado. It was then carefully stored until approximately 1979, when it was taken to be professionally finished by a local sewing shop in La Junta, Colorado with lining, backing, edging and machine quilting. It has since been stored by a friend who has asked that I find a new home for this exceptional quilt made several years ago by a family member. It is in Excellent Condition with a couple small, faint spots, but no wear, damage or loose threads. Truly rare to find such an antique quilt in this pristine of a condition.
