Description: RARE FIND! This is an authentic vintage hand carved double oxen yoke that's in gorgeous condition. Comes with everything seen in the photos. An artisan put a great deal of time into this very solid piece, and it is well taken care of. The ends are wrapped and bolted in what appears to be iron, which was used to protect the yoke specifically when not in use. The hand carved flowers on the front are amazingly detailed, indicating that it is most likely Portuguese since yokes decorated in such manner typically only exist in Portugal. There appear to be no defects or damage on any of the pieces, which means that it was either intended to be decorative, or never used. With its large size, it can serve as an excellent decorative piece for any Americana-themed space. This item is an original piece, and the curvatures on it also indicate that it may actually be from the Azores or Madeira islands, dating back to the period between 1800-1949. It is a great addition to any collection of antiques or primitives, especially for those interested in sculptures and carvings. This is the most stunning piece of this type of collectible that we’ve ever seen. Measures 46" long, 9" tall, and 3.5" deep.
