Description: ANTIQUE NATIVE AMERICAN LG HAND WOVEN MAKAH STURDY BASKET 15 1/4" X 4 1/2". Shipped WELL WRAPPED with USPS Priority Mail. **Shipping for this basket is expensive. Postal rates have increased and the post office has imposed a ridiculous surcharge on any boxes over 12" in any direction. Also, this basket is heavy.** From a coastal North Carolina estate sale, with a collection of very old Native American items, baskets, arrowheads, tools, and pottery. This hand woven basket, according to the estate, is 19th century. I do not know which tribe made it. It is very sturdy and heavy. It measures approximately 15 1/4" in diameter and approximately 4 1/2" in depth. Someone in the audience said it was pine straw. I have no clue, so I am selling this basket as whatever you think it is. I just don't know. I see no serious damage. I also do not see it coming apart anywhere. It obviously was woven to carry something heavy. Returns are accepted only if I have not accurately described the item. Pictures are a part of the description. Pictures are not enhanced in any way and taken in natural sunlight. I sell items as I find them. Not altered in any way including cleaning. Feedback is a two way street.
