Description: Antique miniature vitrine French Rosewood with gilt metal mounts of bronze ornamentation & Austrian enamel handpainted scenes on porcelain medallions of courting aristocratic couples. Curved crest & apron on the front. The beveled glass door has no cracks or chips and has a working key. The glass shelves are also in good condition & are removable. The mirrored back has some loss of silvering. There are two tiny chips missing from the top of the door. There are old worm holes on the back & it has been treated. 15" tall x 9" w x 6" d. The door glass is 9 1/4" x 5 3/4". Sides are 9 3/4" x 4". Inside is 10 7/8". Its deep so holds a lot. Mid 1800s. An unusual rare piece.One like this sold at a Jan Theriaults auction for 3450.
