Description: Antique Matthew Boulton Silver Plated Footed Warming Bowl Tray Dish w/ plug. Circa 18th century. Octogon shape. Piece is signed on the bottom with the Matthew Boulton "double sun" mark. The piece is hollow inside so the plug can be removed and the piece filled with hot water to keep food warm (or cold water to chill). Has an oddly shaped top opening so not sure if this originally had a lid or not. Nice condition for a piece of this age. There is some wear on the edges inside where you can see some copper showing through and a few small spots wear silver is missing inside that can be seen on the pictures (closeup #3). Light scratches inside the bowl. The plug screws off easily and has some wear to the silver. Measures approximately 12 inches from handle tip to handle tip, top opening 9 inches, 3.25 inches tall. Please see all pictures for exact details.
