Description: A very nice Hero's Cross Mason's Patent Nov. 30th, 1858 quart canning jar with the porcelain proper zinc lid. Jar is marked on the bottom with Pat Nov 26, 67, with numbers 767 in the middle.The Maltese Cross symbol indicates the Hero Glass Works / Hero Fruit Jar Company of Philadelphia, PA, made this jar during the 1870-1890s. This symbol has the letters "H," "F," "J," and "Co" that can be faintly seen within each "arm" of the cross. It is nicely whittled with hundreds of bubbles.
