Description: I purchased this painting at auction a few years ago and have enjoyed it thoroughly. It was sold as Victorian era possibly Vellum, but I do not believe it is, as it has linear lines as if it was loomed. The material is translucent with the light emanating through it. It measures 12 1/4ā x 10ā and picks a nautical scene with a ship on wavy ocean. Iām not sure what type of paint was used, but it could be an oil with a grainy white material that does flake off easily. The edge is made of a fabric type material entwined onto a metal frame.
