Description: A large heavy solid hard wood ball. A slightly irregular sphere, Its original use or purpose is not known to me. It has clear evidence of age and use. The whole surface is pitted with irregular 'scars'. Too large and heavy I would suggest to be a bowling ball; it also lacks the usual gripping recesses of an antique bowling ball. Possibly a practice cannon ball but research has provided no clear evidence. Something of a curiosity. A talking point and nice display piece. Approx. 3.5 kg (7 lb 12 oz) in weight.
