Description: This fine French terrestrial globe was made by J. Forest of 17-19 Rue Buci in Paris. Given the arrangement of the nations of Europe, I believe it to date to after the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. The globe is mounted to an ebonized stand and features not only the politicla geography of the time but also ocean currents, distances between cities, ocean liner routes etc. The globe has a small repaired area near Baffin Island in Canada and minor wear here and there but is in generally very good condition for an item that is now 100 years old.
