Description: Antique Staffordshire Nell and Jobson These Antique Victorian Staffordshire figures depict Jobson and Nell. They were the central characters of "The Devil to Pay", a ballad opera written by Charles Coffey and performed on the London stage in 1731. It remained popular in the nineteenth century. These figures were made from the 18th into the 20th century but these, with the incised 27, are attributed to Enoch Wood and are the earlier pearlware versions. Approx 6.5"H X 3"W.
