This antique, writing desk has been newly restored & refinished in real, rusted, copper patina & rusted iron. This antique, writing desk is in excellent condition, with tons of understated detailing. This is a very unique, one of a kind piece, done with lots of time & tons of attention to detail. Measures - •Desktop - 53” x 24.25” •Desk height - 30.25” •Middle drawer face - 20” x 4” •Side drawer faces - 10” x 6” ~Refinishing Process~ The desk has been sanded in stages then painted with copper & iron, oxidizing paints. A rust accelerator has then been applied to the painted portions of the desk. The rust accelerator reacts to the metal, (real copper & iron particles), in the paint, creating an actual patina, rust finish on the wood. This desk is not painted with a rusted look to it. There was no green paint used. The colors were all achieved through the paint’s oxidizing process. The finish is actual, patina, rusted copper & real, rusted iron. The entire desk has been sealed with a final, clear coat from front to back, top to bottom, inside & out, for added durability. The drawer pulls have been done in a rusted, iron finish to match the desks frame. The desk’s dovetailed, drawer faces have ornate, wood carved detailing. The drawer sides have been accented with distressed, floral, paisley lace detailing. (Only visible when drawers are pulled out.) The sides & insides of the desk’s drawers have also been sealed with a final, clear coat. The back of the desk has been done with the same oxidized iron finish as the front & sides. Placed against a wall or as a stand alone piece in the middle of the room, this desk looks great from any angle. (Even the screws that secure the drawer pulls have been done in an oxidized, rusted iron finish to match the outside of the desk’s frame.) ~ Shipping ~ Shipping for this set is free of charge, anywhere within the Continental United States.
