Description: Antique American Coin Silver Teapot By Jabez Halsey. Halsey worked as a sole proprietor silversmith in New York City 1789--1796.This teapot was made during those years. Silver holloware pieces by Halsey are scarce and are rarely offered for sale. This teapot is a fine neoclassical example of his work. The pot displays excellent craftsmanship. There are considerable engraved and gadrooned details as seen in the photos. The script initials B J G represents the family for whom the piece was made.The Hallmark of the maker appears on the base under the handle. The teapot is in excellent original condition and shows no damage or previous repairs. There may have been a previous dent that was removed some time in its history. Approximate measurements Ht.12" Length 11 1/2" Weight 25.5 troy oz. The piece is offered as found without additional repairs or restorations. Shipping includes tracking and insurance.
