Description: A beautiful John Rose Coalport English porcelain covered bowl with undertray in pattern #830. The pattern number is painted in gold on the base of the tray, otherwise unmarked. Dates circa 1820. The decoration is finely hand painted flowers with lots of gold accent work. The bowl looks larger than I would expect for a sugar bowl; however, if it is a sugar, the tray would be for a teapot of matching form. Either way, the tray fits the bowl perfectly. The tray is about 7 1/4" across. The bowl is 6 3/8" across at the top rim. Measures 5" tall overall. Condition is overall good with just a couple minor issues. There is a faint t-shaped hairline along the top rim of the bowl that is 3/4" long from the rim and 1" across. There is a shallow 1/16" nick in the gold along the outside edge of the lid. No other chips or cracks and no repairs. The glaze is shiny with no discoloration. All three pieces have some very fine crazing only seen when scrutinized in bright light. The decoration and gold are in great shape with only some light wear along the outer rim and interior rim of the tray. Satisfaction Guaranteed!
