I'm not entirely sure, but I think this was the sort of metal that was gild over brass or some kind of basemetal. It has unbelievable detail, crazy cool pantina, and appears to be a bronze color in most places. THERE IS DAMAGE AND PIECES MISSING!!!! but this ia still a very unique piece of everyday victorian life and it deserves a second life, maybe a repurposed life with the right person, or as a simple art object or conversation piece.
