Description: Antique Cast Iron Dutch Oven Lid Number 12 1870s An antique 14 inch outer diameter heavy cast iron Dutch Oven lid with a number 12 embossed on the top. Gate mark is on the underside. Dates back to the 1870s era. 11 3/8 inch diameter inner ring. The inverted lid purpose was to put hot coals on top of the lid so ones foods could cook evenly. Good original condition.
