Description: This great heavily made brass matchbox holder was created for the famous Luisenhof Hotel in Dresden Germany. It think it was probably made between WWI and WWII given its art deco style and lettering. It has a manufacturer's mark on the base along with the word, HANDARBEIT (which presumably means "handmade"). The piece is 3 5/8" tall and is 2 3/8" square at the base. It weighs 6.5 oz. It is in great original condition with no observable damage and has its original patina. Washington State residents please add 10.1% State Sales.
