Description: Antique brass late biedermeier period large lidded wall container. Dated 1853Used possibly in a kitchen for storing spices,candles or soap.A semicircular cylindrical body with ornate repousse top with a repousse floral motif on lid. A repousse cartouche on the cylinder wall with a german inscription: "Zum Andenken" ("In remembrance of") and initials" BA" with a punched date of "1853". South German or Austrian. Made of brass. Measures: 26x18x12 cmCondition report: Lid is closing,but lose. Needs repair of hinges.
