Description: This is an antique cradle made of pine wood and painted green with a black stencil of a boy with a candle. It was created sometime between 1910-20. The piece is 20" long x 12"wide x 13" tall at the headboard. It weighs approximately 5 lbs. It was made for an infant, it is portable and the natural pine wood base sets on an interior frame and is removable for cleaning, but it is of course suitable for dolls. The style is naive and primitive, but the cradle is very well made with cut wood joins and nails, brads are used on the base. May have been homemade or produced by a cottage industry carpenter here in rural Indiana. It would be a great addition to any antique or primitive collection. The paint is deteriorating, there is a split in the wood of the base highlighted in photos. Nice honest farm piece in good antique condition.NOTE: please select preferred shipping method from alternatives below. Boxed 24" x 14" x 15" weight 7 lbs.
