Description: Up for grabs is this beautiful Brass Bourdon Steamgauge made by the American Steam & Valve Manufacture Company of Boston Mass. USA, to be used by the Springfield Boiler & Mfg. Co. of Springfield, Ill... Has a pat. date of Mar. 24. 1903 on it's lower face, is rated at 200 lbs. and looks to be in good condition.. Gauge is advertised as a 10" but measures 12" overall in diameter by about 3" thick, with the glass bezel measuring 9 1/4"... The gauge is very clean inside and out, but has not been tested in any way however it does appear to be fully functional, as the black dial does move forward freely and springs back towards zero when released... Brass bezel and face have nice patina with the brass bezel having numerous small dings around it's outer edge (see 7th thru & 10th photos) .. The wavy glass appears to be original and does have one small 1/2" crack around it's outer edge along with numerous other small scratches & marks... The cast iron body/back is very heavy duty, and does have one spot that has been notched out to allow room for the 90 degree pipe attachment (see 12th photo).. This gauge is very heavy (will weigh 17-18 lbs. packaged) and will be wrapped in foam to insure safe delivery, with full insurance included..
