Description: Antique ALLERTON'S Gaudy Welsh Oversize TEACUP SAUCER Gaudy Welsh, Grape Pattern Click images to enlarge Description ANTIQUE GAUDY WELSH TEACUP SET Striking and lovely antique hand painted porcelain oversized teacup set including a deep 6" saucer and a 4" wide by 2-1/2" cup. Bearing soft paneling and a scalloped edge, cup has a decorative handle and set is decorated in the Gaudy Welsh design - believe pattern name is Grape. Mark on the base of the saucer is almost illegible, but I can make out ALLERTON'S - set dates 1850s-1899. Condition is lovely with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, discoloration or damage - there is wear to the gold trim, and light usage wear - size is impressive. I've always displayed this set with my collection or Imari porcelain since the colors are so similar. Hoping someone will love it as I have - wonderful addition to any home!
