Description: Antique 19th century Qajar dynasty Persian Lacquer Papier-Mache miniature painting that shows a hunting scene. This outstanding and very finely painted antique Persian 19th century Qajar dynasty papier-mache lacquer. The panel has the most wonderfully intense glowing copper-gold base and has been painted with a highly detailed hunting scene with superb action as horses and riders, dogs, lion, gazelle, hogs run all over the painting with trees, rocks and flowers wherever you look. The main painting panel has illuminated boarder.The panel measures approximately 7.125 x 10.000 inches. Painting with boarder is 10.500 x 13.000 inches. It is framed with an antique frame measures 12.000 x 15.000 inches.The panel-front and back-is in great condition with general wear and a few small areas of rubbing. There is no damage or evidence of repairs or in-painting under a black light. There is some minor lacquer loss to the top edge. The writing pad underneath has seen better days.
