Description: Open Salt, toothpick, & pepper set in the form of a fish. The left side of the fish features a Dublin, Ireland scene, hand-colored over transfer. This piece dates from the late 1910's to 1920's. It was probably made in Germany, but is not hallmarked. The fish is painted in a pearlescent luster white with metallic gold trim and features. The Dublin scene is titled "Greetings from Dublin ~ O'Connell Bridge, Dublin ~ Showing O'Connell Street, the O'Connell Monument, and the Nelson Pillar. (Note: Nelson Pillar was destroyed by terrorist bomb in 1966). Update: after initial photographs, I found the cover to the mustard pot. It has been photographed separately (see photo #3). It is exactly the same color as the rest of the fish -- lighting makes it look different. No condition issues on this lid. There are two inserts on the fish. The pierced insert (I assume for pepper) probably needs a cork, as it is open ended. The other insert is for mustard (no mustard spoon), with the shallow well at the tail serving as an open salt. See comments about lid for mustard photographed separately. Condition: Very good giftable condition. Mentionable issue: chip off back right foot as seen in last photo. No visible crazing or discoloration. No other chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, cracks, hairlines, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. No signs of previous repair or restoration. The rim around the toothpick is uneven, suggesting a chip; however, I note it is over-glazed, so it is a manufacturing blip. Dimension: 7.5" long x 2" wide x 2.5" tall. Pierced insert has 1.25" top diameter; open insert has 1-1/8" diameter. Hallmarks: None Unpacked weight: 7 oz. Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping.
